As ever, when we challenge you to get creative, we have been blown away! Over the last year we know we have not been alone in finding solace and fresh appreciation for the pockets of nature around us. It was so lush seeing campers-old and campers-soon-to-be share what it means to them to play out in nature.
Choosing a winner has been nigh on impossible, but after much deliberation, we’d like to say a HUGE congratulations to the Sibley Sisters who have won a family ticket to the next Starry Skies. Luella’s poem was beautifully read and perfectly captured the free-roaming spirit of Starry Skies. Her little sister Estella’s poem about camping really made us smile too.
We have been SO impressed by all the entries. We were dazzled by everyone’s beautiful (and playful!) use of language and all of the that heart went into them. We hope it’s inspired you all to pick up your pens and put on your poetry hat more often. A huge big thank you to all who entered, and for brightening our days with your smarts. Keep an eye out on our social media pages as we share all the fantastic entries.
Big hugs,
Starry Skies team x
Collecting twigs to build my dens
My hair flying free
The dirt falling through my fingers
And playing on logs near trees
The bugs and beetles in bug hotels
Birds flying high
All around me the nature is mine!
Playing here feels free
The space all for me
Sharing the woods with nature
This is where I want to be!
Here you can act like animals
Build your dens on ground
Climb the trees and feel you’re free!
