Your Responsibilities To Staying Safe
Please note whilst we try to make Starry Village as safe and as inclusive for as many people as possible, our rural, countryside location does pose certain Health & Safety risks and practical considerations in regards to accessibility and all the associated dangers that nature can pose. The event site is a working farm at other times of the year and includes direct access to many acres of natural woodland.
As an organisation we annually produce a robust and thorough Event Safety Management Plan which conforms to standard Health & Safety regulations. This plan analyses all the associated risks of the event and then puts suitable measures in place based on the assessment of risk.
Starry Village is inherently about you and your family experiencing nature. Whilst we have a duty of care to make sure the event is safe for the families that attend (in terms of the site, its facilities and the creative content we offer), you are expected to take reasonable care and precautions for you and your families safety and well-being. This responsibility sits with the parent, legal guardian or carer on site and the arrangements they have made in advance of attending.
It is not our role or remit to undertake the direct care of your children, or anticipate any pre-existing medical conditions they (or you!) may have.
If you or your family members have any pre-existing health conditions and/or are on any medication, or are attending with those who have additional needs then it is your responsibility to bring the appropriate support and/or supplies with you whilst on site for the duration of the event. Parents, legal guardians or carers are responsible for their family and must make sure that individuals do not impact on the safety and wellbeing of others at the event. Please do check our Accessibility pages, for information on the various facilities we do have on offer.
We have trained medical staff who can only provide basic first aid care where necessary between the hours of midday Thursday (when gates open) and midday Sunday (when gates close). They will be based in the main field inside the Medical Yurt between the hours of 8am – 8pm. If you need assistance between 8pm – 8am, there is an emergency contact point available at the Public Info tent. Look for the 24 sign on the event map.
We are able to offer refrigeration facilities for any medication needing to be kept cool. Please let us know if in advance by emailing: accessibility@starryvillage.com or pop in to the medical tent on arrival.

If you have a serious pre-existing medical condition, or are bringing someone with specific care needs and want to assess if Starry Village is an appropriate event for you to attend in terms of your safety, then please get in touch with us before purchasing a ticket by emailing accessibility@starryvillage.com
We will want to understand fully the following points before deciding if this event is suitable for you or the individuals you intend to bring:
- In strict confidence we would want to understand the medical / accessibility needs, and ascertain any potential impact on our operational management in terms of medical or stewarding arrangements.
- We would want to know how the carer / guardian will manage the safety and care of the individual.
- If we do not feel this is appropriate then we will suggest our minimum level of care to allow entry after speaking to our SENCO, H&S and medical advisers
- If the parent / carer / legal guardian does not meet our minimum standards then we would not allow entry to the event as we would not want to compromise our Duty Of Care to all those attending the event.
